Mr Teoh, a Malaysian citizen was a teacher before he went to read law
at the University College of Buckingham, England in 1980. He graduated in 1982 with a degree in the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)
with Honours. He sat for the Bar Finals at Lincoln's Inn in 1983 and was called to the Honourable
Society of Lincoln's Inn as Barrister-at-Law in the same year.
Immediately
upon being admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya at Johor Bahru in September 1984, he commenced
practice as a partner in Messrs. Han & Teoh which firm became known later as Messrs. Lim Han & Teoh. In 1998, Mr Teoh
decided to end the partnership of Lim Han & Teoh to commence practice under the name and style of Michael Teoh, Balan
& Ida Zura.
He was appointed a director of a public listed company (Tomypak Holdings Berhad) on 10th March 1996, a Commissioner for
Oaths in November 1996 and a member of the Investigating Tribunal (Advocates & Solicitors' Disciplinary Board) on 18th
November 2002.
